Platform-Secondary Packaging System

1. Product Overview

The stainless platform is the elevated structure and mounting foundation of the secondary packaging line. Its core job is to place the secondary packaging machine (heat-shrink/bundling machine) at the correct height and organise the space around it. Lifting the bundling machine onto a platform is not for looks — it follows from line process logic: after finished packs are lifted into position by the bucket elevator, aligned and count/weight-verified, they must enter the bundling machine from an elevated infeed. The platform also "folds" the machine's floor footprint into the vertical dimension, making the line more compact and personnel flows smoother.

2. The Platform's Duties: More than "a Shelf"

The stainless platform in a secondary packaging line carries four clear duties:

Carrying the bundling machine

1. — the mounting surface is engineered to the actual footprint and weight of the machine. For a Globule bundling machine, for example, dimensions of L2000×W1150×H1450mm and a weight of about 750kg demand a platform with sufficient support stiffness and flatness so the machine runs at high speed without shaking, wobbling or creeping;

2. — working with the bucket elevator and conveyors so finished packs reach the bundler infeed by the shortest route with the fewest turns, avoiding surface wear from long inclined conveying;

3. — the platform footprint governs the relative positions of the bundler and neighbouring equipment (multihead weigher, fast-back conveyor, conveyors). 3. Construction Highlights

All-stainless load-bearing structure

● — columns, beams and deck plates in food-grade stainless combine strength with hygiene, suit wash-down environments and meet FSMA sanitary design;

Anti-slip deck with kick plates

● — the deck uses anti-slip chequer plate and perimeter kick plates so tools and debris cannot fall from height;

Stairs and guardrails to standard

● — stair pitch, tread size and rail height follow industrial safety norms for safe, easy climbing;

Standardised machine-mounting interfaces

● — pre-positioned mounting points and locating datum match the bundler's feet and anti-vibration pads, so the machine is seated quickly and aligned accurately;

Modular bolt-together construction

● — sections are joined with bolts; no hot work or welding on site, giving short lead times, relocatability and future expandability.

4. Hygiene, Safety and Maintenance

The platform lives permanently in the food plant environment, and Globule insists on "Hygiene First · Safety First" throughout the design: rounded members, no dirt-catching shelves, fully flush-cleanable; safety rails and fall protection at the stair head and deck edges; electrical runs contained in trunking to remove trip and shock hazards. With almost no moving parts, maintenance is limited to fastener checks and surface cleaning, keeping whole-life cost extremely low.

Engineered like a machine, not a scaffold — every platform Globule builds is treated as a precision structure. Our engineers perform load calculations for the dead weight of the mounted bundling machine plus live loads of operators, film rolls and tools, then verify member sizes and weld/bolted-joint capacity against the figures before fabrication. Deck flatness is checked at installation so the bundling machine sits level within its tolerance and keeps its 80–120 packs/minute performance and ±0.5 g check-weigh accuracy. Surface finishing is matched to the wash-down regime of your plant, and protective edge trims prevent film, pouches or clothing from snagging during operation. For export projects the platform documentation — drawings, material certificates and load statements — is compiled in bilingual form to support your plant's FSMA and third-party audit files.

5. Line Matching and Customisation

The platform is one of the most customised elements in the line. Globule provides integrated site survey + 3D layout + structural verification: platform length, width, height, stair position and service openings are determined from the bundler model, infeed height, building floor height, surrounding equipment positions and personnel flow. The platform can be delivered together with the bucket elevator, vibrate feeder, multihead weigher, fast-back conveyor, conveyors and the bundling machine, or customised and retrofitted onto an existing line.
